6pm Wednesday November 7th at Bend High Auditorium
Did you know that the PTSD suicide rate nationwide is 22 per day and Oregon’s suicide rate is 1 every 3 days?
Did you know that Central Oregon Veterans Ranch (COVR) is taking the lead on community awareness about veteran-related PTSD, and participating in a larger community-wide initiative – the regional TRACEs movement – to create a safer, healthier Central Oregon?
Please join Central Oregon Veterans Ranch 6pm Wednesday November 7th at Bend High School for an important and informative discussion on the nature of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and its impact on the Central Oregon community.
This two-part presentation will help provide a clear understanding of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: what it is, what it is not, causes, and how those experiencing it can be helped. The presentation will also explain the mission of COVR with a particular emphasis on how the organization assists veterans struggling with PTSD.
Attendees will walk away with an understanding of the impact of PTSD on veterans and their families, the magnitude of the impact on the Central Oregon Community, and how COVR is helping address the unmet needs of veterans suffering from PTSD. You will also walk away with a clearer understanding of what resources are available in our community and how you can help.
While this Forum will view trauma through the lens of veterans, it will also address the impact of trauma on individuals and more generally.
COVR is proud to become a part of the regional TRACEs movement http://tracesco.org/ and partnering with people as passionate as us about creating a healthier, stronger, trauma-informed Central Oregon.
The presentation will be an hour and a half with a half hour for questions and discussion.
Please help us spread the word and plan to attend this important community event on Wednesday November 7th at 6pm at the auditorium of Bend High. The event is free of charge.
