Board Member Role Responsibilities

  • Attend regular meetings of the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch (COVR) Board of Directors, which are approximately two hours in duration.The board meets monthly. Be accessible for personal contact between board meetings.

  • Willing to participate on committees as developed.

  • Commit time to develop financial resources for Central Oregon Veterans Ranch with annual requirement of $5,000. The $5,000 does not have to come directly from you but should come from your efforts and recruits. This covers Give/Get Policy of COVR.

  • Board members are required to support other fund development activities of COVR in a manner appropriate for board directors. Attendance and participation at annual COVR events is an important part of board service and expected. Board members should also recruit attendees and guests from their networks to attend.

  • Prepare in advance for decision-making and policy formation at board meetings; take responsibility for self-education on the pertinent issues before the board meetings.

  • Participate in ongoing training and education to increase knowledge and awareness on issues relevant to COVR’s mission, veterans, and Board development.

  • Participate in the annual board member’s self-review process.

  • Participate in annual strategic planning meeting.

  • In general, utilize personal and professional skills, relationships, and knowledge for the advancement of Central Oregon Veterans Ranch.
