Why the ranch works: healing in community and on the land.
Our Mission
Central Oregon Veterans Ranch helps veterans develop their inner strength and find purpose by providing camaraderie and access to nature on our working ranch
Our Vision
We envision Central Oregon Veterans Ranch as a premier model for nature-based veteran development and compassionate community engagement
Agriculture
Hands in the dirt, boots in the pasture. Daily ranch work grounds us in routine, responsibility, and real outcomes—animals fed, fields mended, harvests brought in.
Community Support
We connect best with people who understand. Veterans lead with veterans—get-togethers, shared meals, honest conversation, no one left behind.
Purpose
Purpose grows when our skills matter. Participants set goals, practice leadership, and take on roles that fit their strengths—from irrigation lead to garden mentor—so impact is tangible and transferable.
Veterans share a powerful bond shaped by service, sacrifice, and a shared sense of responsibility—one that influences every part of life, from relationships and identity to purpose and connection.
At the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch (COVR), we honor that shared experience by offering a place where veterans can spend time together, build relationships, and stay connected across generations and backgrounds. Our approach centers on community, shared work, and mutual respect—creating space for real camaraderie and belonging.
Veterans from across Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook Counties come to the Ranch for many reasons: to contribute their skills, learn something new, enjoy time on the land, or simply be around others who understand their experience. Rooted in agriculture and hands-on projects, the Ranch offers a non-stigmatizing environment where connection and purpose grow naturally—strengthening community and supporting well-being through participation.
Our History
Incorporated in 2014, the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch has been integral in positively impacting the veteran community of Deschutes County and beyond.
Our 19-acre property has become a sanctuary for veterans seeking support with PTSD, suicide prevention, vocational training, and more.
Started by a movement to change how we view veteran healthcare, to expanding into agritherapy, COVR continues to evolve and grow to meet the needs of those who chose to serve.
